If you could work with any author publishing today, who would it be?
Probably Nora Roberts. I hadn’t thought she would be my answer, but think about it. Can you imagine seeing her in action? Watching her fingers flying across the keyboard, cranking out novel after novel? That would be thrilling. Then Nora and I could kick back, have a glass of wine, and discuss just what the hell kind of muse she’s channeling. I have a favorite Nora Roberts quote taped to my desk that has never failed to inspire me: “You can fix anything but a blank page.”
First book you remember making an indelible impression on you.
Little Women. I read it so many times, and it always made me cry. Most writers wanted to be Jo because she’s the writer, but I wanted to be Amy. Amy was fun. Amy got to go to Europe with Aunt March, wear fabulous clothes, travel the world, and marry the boy next door. There was also an obscure little book that impressed me called They Loved to Laugh by Kathryn Worth, about a shy orphan girl who goes to live with a Quaker farm family. She falls in love with one of the sons, and he waits for her to grow up so he can marry her. I think I kept that book checked out of the school library for two years running. A few years ago, it finally came back into print, and I bought a copy. I still love it as an adult.
If you could only eat one food the rest of your life, what would it be?
Oh, this is hard. Peanut butter and crackers? Chicken pot pie? Crusty sourdough bread with sweet butter? Pancakes and sausage? Warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream? I can’t decide. But I have to stop now. I’m starving.
If you were a shifter, what animal would you like to be?
Anything that can fly.
Favorite season? Why?
Autumn. October is my favorite color and my favorite thing to do is drive through the Blue Ridge Mountains to look at the leaves then come home and sit by a fire. November is my birthday month, and Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. On Turkey Day, all I want is the cornbread stuffing and the pies. I am so all about the pies. And I love having my family around me, cooking, eating, and laughing. That’s the best part.

Unfortunately, it's in the possession of the woman he left behind, the woman who's haunted his dreams ever since. The electricity between them still crackles, but unless he helps exonerate her brother and finds a way to confess his true reason for returning, how will he ever recover Morgan's heart?
