Wecome to It's Raining Books. Why do you write in your genre? What draws you to it?

Sex, sex, and oh yeah, sex.
,br> Okay, it’s not actually the sex that draws me to erotic romance, per se. It’s the heat and naked emotion two people—or more—experience when they’re, well, naked. The interaction between characters when they’re stripped down and raw gets my juices flowing—my creative juices that is. However, it can get other juices flowing too.

I’m only human!

What research is required?

The fun kind! What else? *grins wickedly* Let’s see…

The heroine in my story Exposed Desires owned a strip club, so I visited a strip club. When doing research for my BDSM romance His Forbidden Submissive, I visited some mighty kinky websites. I also visited some fun, raunchy sex club websites while creating The Erogenous Zone, the sex club in my most-recent erotic romance, A Soldier’s Seduction.

Oh, and this summer, I visited a wine festival because I’m working on a story that’s set around one. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it. ;)

Name one thing you learned from the heroine of A Soldier’s Seduction. That your soul mate is out there. Somewhere. You just have to open your eyes and see them. Whether that person is a million miles away or, like my heroine, Gen, he’s sitting right next to you every day.

Gen and Liam have been best friends since college. Just friends. They both married other people, but their friendship was always there, binding them together. Along the way, Liam lost his wife to cancer. Gen dumped her scumbag of a husband after he was arrested for soliciting a prostitute. Gen and Liam drew together during these times of pain and came out the other side changed people.

Are you a plotter or pantser?

A little of both. Well, more like 20% plotter and 80% pantser. I start with an idea and several key plot\conflict points and then jump headlong into the story. It makes for one messy manuscript to clean, but it’s the way my brain works.

Unfortunately.

Look to your right – what’s sitting there?

My youngest daughter, or as I like to call her, my little lap buddy. Or my little parasite, depending on what kind of a mood I’m in. *grin*

It’s an ongoing joke around the Evans household that, if Kidlet2 is home, my lap is never empty. When we were shopping for a new couch a couple of weeks ago, I tested the furniture with her in my lap.

Anything new coming up from you? What?

Yes!

I’ve signed with Silk Words for another CYOA story, tentatively titled Uniform Seduction. It’s set in the same world as A Soldier’s Seduction and features Gen’s best gal pal, Lily Collins, as she has to decide between two equally yummy soldier’s.

I’m also working on first-round edits for a military-themed m/m erotic romance for Loose Id, In the Middle of Nowhere. It’s tentatively set an October release.

Do you have a question for our readers?

What is your favorite genre of romance? What is your least favorite?

My fave is friends-to-lovers. My least fave—oh, this is a tuff one!—but I’d have to say anything with a conflict no one would ever face in real life. But I’ve read plenty of those I love too so…

When Gen learns her best guy friend is going back to Afghanistan, she arranges an erotic sendoff he’ll never forget.

GENEVIEVE FOSTER can no longer deny the truth. She’s fallen in love with her business partner and best friend, LIAM ENGLAND. She’s hesitant to tell him the truth, at least until she learns his National Guard unit is going back to the Middle East. Now, all bets are off. She heads to the mall for the perfect erotic outfit. And by outfit, she, of course, means lingerie. A dark blue baby-doll for an intimate evening in or a leather bustier for a night of sinful pleasures at The Erogenous Zone...

Enjoy an excerpt:

Liam arrived at my place right on schedule, not that I expected anything less. The man was as punctual as he was gorgeous, and tonight, he was crazy gorgeous. Maybe the soft candlelight was messing with my head — or maybe it was the wine.

Either way, my handsome companion looked positively fuckable. And the most ironic part? He wore nothing fancier than a pair of old boots, tattered jeans, and a faded gray Dallas Cowboys T-shirt, the blue lettering accenting the azure of his eyes. He hadn’t shaved, nor had he made it to the barber like he’d planned. His blond locks fell just beyond Army-regulation short, the combo working together to give him a sexy, just-rolled-out-of-bed look.

Looking good came so easily to Liam. Unlike me. I’d spent the entire day getting ready for this. Lily and I had spent the morning at a day spa. We’d gotten the works — mani-pedis, skin abrasion treatments, massages, body wraps. Hell, Lily had even talked me into getting that Brazilian wax. So now, every inch of me was soft, smooth, and smelling like rose petals.

I’d bought a simple baby-doll dress to perfectly conceal my nightie. My hair hung in long ringlets down the middle of my back, and my bare feet showed off freshly painted toenails and the brand-new silver toe ring that looped around the long toe. I’d wanted everything, myself included, to be perfect. Well, as close to perfect as I could humanly get.

Liam set his keys in the ceramic change bowl by the door, his gaze crawling up and down my body. “What’s with the getup, Gen? Were you expecting someone else?”

“Nothing’s with my outfit,” I lied, suddenly feeling severely overdressed but in a way that made me feel naked. Not physically naked but mentally so, as if my ploy to seduce him was so obvious it was laughable. “I figured since you’re leaving for Afghanistan soon, we’d try something different tonight. Is that okay?”

Liam didn’t hesitate for a moment. “Perfectly okay. I just wish you’d told me.” He tapped the end of my nose. “I feel like a complete slob standing here next to you.”

“You look wonderful, Liam. Just like always.” I froze. Holy crap, had I just said that out loud?

Thankfully, the timer on my phone chose that moment to sound, saving me from my stupidity. I spun from Liam’s penetrating gaze and headed for the kitchen, but he followed me. Great. Apparently, there was no escape for the verbally inept.

About the Author:
Brandi Evans was raised by a caravan of traveling Gypsies. She spent her days learning the ways of her people and her nights lost in legends as old as time. Okay, not really, but that's way more interesting than the truth!

In reality, Brandi grew up the oldest child of an ordinary family. Grade school, middle school, high school. Nothing extraordinary happened until she left the nest. She joined the military, went to college, got married, and became a mom. And somewhere along the way, she discovered she liked to read—and write!—stories hot enough to melt eReaders.

These days, she calls The Natural State home where she lives with her hubby, two beautiful daughters, two dogs and a cat who has yet to realize she doesn’t own the place. Soldier. Wife. Mom. Multi-published smut writer. Brandi's life might not be "traveling Gypsy" interesting, but she's had fun. And in the end, isn't that all that really matters?
