NUN ON THE RUN

Desperate to escape an arranged marriage, Reina Alvarez needed a way out of California fast, a way that would elude the ruggedly handsome and very determined bounty hunter her father had sent after her. What better way to hide her voluptuous curves than with a chaste nun's habit? But as the ties of love pulled her and Clay Cordell closer together, chastity became the furthest thing from Reina's mind and she wanted only to be bound to the sexy bounty hunter forever.

When Clay got to New Orleans, he was almost fooled by Reina's virtuous act. However, it was soon evident that the vixen who disguised herself as a nun, was no nun. No nun could ever kiss so sweetly. The last thing Clay wanted to do was bring Reina home to another man. Her raven tresses and fiery manner made him only want to surrender himself to her...SWEET SILKEN BONDAGE.

Read an Excerpt

Clay looked down at Reina to find her dark-eyed warm gaze upon him. Excitement lurched through him, and he realized he wanted this. He desired Reina. He had when he’d thought she was a nun, and he did even more so now that he didn’t have to feel guilty about it

As the music came to an end, Clay whisked her out the double French doors to the balcony and the privacy of the cool, dark night.

Reina was startled by his daring, but she did not resist as he drew her gently away into the shadowy splendor of the evening.

He gave her a wicked smile. “Now that I’ve finally found you, I don’t ever want to lose you.”

A thrill coursed through Reina.

Clay held her close, and she went willingly.

Passion erupted as their lips met for the first time. He crushed her to his chest, deepening the exchange.

Clay’s kiss was powerful, unlike anything Reina had ever experience before. A burning need grew within her. Linking her arms around his neck, she pressed herself even closer to him. Engulfed by heart-stopping pleasure, she wondered if this was love….

Clay was stunned by his own reaction to her and by her passionate response. His mouth left hers to seek out the softness of her throat as he caressed the soft curves of her breasts.

“Clay…please…” She didn’t know what she was begging for, she only knew she wanted to be nearer to him.

At her urging, any thought of restraining himself disappeared, and Reina moaned in pure ecstasy.

Only the sound of voices nearby jarred them back to reality. Clay pulled away from her.

Defiant by Bobbi Smith

Clint Williams
Born February 16, 1852
Died March 23, 1877

Those were the words that marked his grave, and Clint knew that although he stood reading his own epitaph, they were true. Ever since the attack that had killed his entire family, he’d been dead inside. Only one thing kept him going—the burning need to bring in the outlaws who’d done it.

The Last Chance Saloon

Posing undercover to infiltrate the gang, Clint could let no one know his true identity or the fact that he’d once been a Texas Ranger. Not even the pretty daughter of a preacher man who burst into the saloon calling upon the gamblers to repent. As far as she knew, he was a gunslinger with a bad reputation who had no right to touch a good woman. But sometimes a man’s got to break all the rules, ignore common send to follow his heart and get downright… Defiant.

Read an Excerpt

Clint arrived in Dry Springs and made his way to the Last Chance Saloon where the outlaws were supposed to show up. After taking a drink at the bar, he joined in a poker game, wanting to get a feel for the place.

“Praise the Lord and repent while there’s time!”

Clint looked up to see the saloon being invaded by what looked like a Bible-toting minster and his entire congregation.

“Get out of here, preacher man!” the bartender shouted.

“I can’t! I’m here to save these souls from the devil!”

“The only devil in here is you!”

The church people gasped at his words.

“Hey, look at the women he brought with him,” one of the gamblers at the table with Clint said, grinning.

“Some of them are grandmothers, but not that one!” the gambler named Ed nodded toward a pretty, dark-haired young woman in a sedate gown. “She’s Rachel, the preacher’s daughter.”

Clint glanced over at her. Tall and slender, she moved with elegance through the chaos. He grew angry that her father would subject her to this. Women like her were meant to be protected and cherished.

“Gambling is a sin!” the preacher called out.

“But sin is fun!” one of the drunks responded.

“I think I need some redemption,” Ed said, reaching out to grab Rachel and pull her onto his lap.

Rachel was shocked by his actions and struggled to break away as he planted a wet kiss on her neck.

“Unhand my daughter!” the reverend demanded.

“Come on, little angel, give me some salvation.” Ed tried to kiss her.

Rachel slapped him, disgusted by his vile behavior.

“Why you little—” Ed drew back, ready to hit her.

Clint had had enough.

“Let her go,” he commanded quietly.

“Hell, no!”

Clint stood up, ready to confront him. “I said, let her go.”

“Mind your own damned business.”

Clint drew his gun. “She is my business. Get your hands off her now.”

Ed froze at the site of his gun. “What are you so riled about? She’s just a whore like the rest of them.”

“No, she’s not.” Clint’s voice was so calm it was deadly. He reached over and took Rachel by the arm, drawing her off the other man’s lap.

“You want some of her, too?” Ed taunted, leering at Rachel.

Clint ignored him as he glanced down her. She was trembling and close to tears. He understood her fear.

“Leave now, while you can,” Clint directed in a low voice.

Rachel looked up at the tall, broad-shouldered, dark-haired stranger who’d just rescued her. She had no idea who he was, but she was thankful for his help. Too upset to speak, she only nodded and hurried to her father.

Clint remained standing with his gun drawn until they’d left the saloon.

Capture My Heart by Bobbi Smith

This post is part of a virtual book tour organized by Goddess Fish Promotions. The author will be awarding a $10 Amazon/BN GC to a randomly drawn winner via Rafflecopter. Click on the tour banner to see the other stops on the tour.

Serad is the powerful, handsome pirate whose relentless plundering is the stuff of legend—but only a few know that his true identity is Lord Alexander Wakefield. His kidnapping as a child by Barbary pirates changed the course of his life. Now Serad is the master of the seas, accustomed to possessing whatever—or whoever—he wants.

He Stole Her Freedom…
When Serad boards the vessel La Mouette to loot for treasure, he discovers a cargo more precious than any trinket: the heiress Victoria Lawrence. A raven-haired, emerald-eyed beauty, Victoria captivates Serad as no woman ever has before. But the fiery young lady doesn’t seem to understand that she is now a captive, expected to honor her new master’s wishes and desires without question…

But He Must Win Her Heart
When Victoria set sail from India, she expected the voyage to deliver her into the arms of her betrothed—not a heartless gang of pirates. Now captured, she refuses to bow to any man, even one as commanding as Serad. Sharing his cabin, Victoria can barely resist her attraction to her captor. But if she gives in to her desires, Victoria knows Serad will accept nothing less than her total surrender...

Read an Excerpt

Serad headed back to his cabin. He dismissed the guard at the door and let himself in, only to find his entire cabin in disarray. Fury rocked through him, and he moved threateningly into the room, shutting the door behind him.

“What’s been going on here?” he thundered, his steely gaze fixed on Victoria alone as she stood, straight and proud, behind his desk, her hands down at her sides. He knew the gun was in the locked drawer, and he wondered if she’d found it. He didn’t dwell on that too long, for he still thought of her as a spoiled English lady, who wouldn’t know which end of a gun was which.

“Stay right there,” Victoria ordered, lifting the pistol. “I’m a dead shot and I’ll use it if I have to.”

Serad was angry, and he found it hard to believe that the emerald-eyed, determined woman holding his pistol pointed directly at his heart was the same inane, sophisticated beauty he’d dealt with up on deck.

“Just what do you plan to do with that?” Serad asked in a deceptively calm voice.

“I plan to make you let us go.”

“With one bullet?” His expression turned sardonic.

“One bullet is all it would take to kill you.”

“But after I’m dead, then what?”

“I have no intention of shooting you unless you force me to.”

“I’m relieved to hear that,” Serad mocked, deliberately trying to anger her. There was no way he was going to allow her to reach the deck holding a pistol on him. She was his captive, his slave. It was time she accepted the inevitable.

Arizona Caress by Bobbi Smith

This post is part of a virtual book tour organized by Goddess Fish Promotions. Bobbi Smith will be awarding $10 Amazon or Barnes and Noble GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour. Click on the tour banner to see the other stops on the tour.

Journeying west to rescue his brother, Chance Broderick finds the frontier full of surprises. But the biggest discovery of all is discovering the boy he's hired as his tracker is in fact a beautiful young woman.

Read an Excerpt:

“Are you sure about this, Chance?” Doug asked his brother as they rode back to the Indian village.

“I’m sure. I made a promise to her grandfather to do my best for her, and I intend to do just that.”

A few villagers looked up as Chance and Doug rode back into the village and stopped in front of Rori’s lodge. Chance dismounted and strode forward to throw wide the door flap.

Rori was feeling sad and lonely. She was ready to pack up her few belongings and leave the Pima encampment, when she heard the sound of horses outside.

“Rori!” Chance called her name as he entered unannounced.

Rori never dreamed Chance would come back for her. His good-bye had been too final, too devastating. She stared at him in mute surprise, her defenses down.

Chance took one look around the lodge and knew he’d been right. She was unhappy and it was all his fault.

Rori was tired of fighting the loneliness that had haunted her since her grandfather’s death. For just that moment, she allowed herself to believe Chance had come back because he wanted her. She stared at him, her heart beating painfully. His next words to her were so callous and demanding that they jarred her from her young girl’s reverie.

“You’re coming with me,” he ordered in a tone that brooked no argument.

At his commanding attitude, her eyes narrowed in suspicion. As much as she would have loved to throw herself into his arms, she refused to give in to the desire. She knew Chance, and she didn’t trust him.

“I ain’t going anywhere with you, Broderick!”

The Half Breed by Bobbi Smith

This post is part of a virtual book tour organized by Goddess Fish Promotions. Bobbi Smith will be awarding a $10 Amazon or B/N GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour. Click on the tour banner to see the other stops on the tour.

Today I’m going to share five things you’d probably never guess about me!

1. I had a career in retail before I started writing. I went to a teacher’s college for two years. My sister was already teaching grade school, but when a kid showed up in her class with a gun, I changed majors. :-) I got a business degree and worked for a major department store chain for several years. I was the first female department manager in a hardlines department. :-) Looking back, I’m very glad I got that business degree because it really helped me career-wise. You can write a good book, but you also have to sell it. I have so much fun doing author tours. It’s great to get out and meet the booksellers and the readers.

2. I love New York City! New York is a wonderful place. The first time I went was for a Romantic Times conference back in the eighties. I am still amazed that so many people can live so close together and get along. I didn’t know anyone at the conference and I’d never flown before, so looking back, that was pretty daring of me, but it was definitely worth it.

3. I’ve been with my agent for over 30 years now. Thank heaven for Evan (Marshall)! (I didn’t know I was a poet, too. :-)) I don’t know if I would be as successful as I am fortunate to be if it hadn’t been for him. So, to all you aspiring writers out there, be sure to find an agent you can work with, one who will listen to you, and one who will guide you in the right direction.

4. I’m sure you can guess this one—I love the Wild West. It’s breathtakingly beautiful and I love setting my stories there. From the desert near Phoenix to the snowy mountains in Wyoming, it’s amazing. The Superstition Mountains in Arizona have inspired several of my books. I was a huge Bonanza fan growing up, and one of my biggest thrills was getting to tour the Ponderosa out near Reno. And Texas is wonderful!

5. My favorite books growing up were Box Car Children series. I’m so glad to see that it’s still popular with young readers. As for the book that inspired my writing career, that was The Flame and The Flower by Kathleen Woodiwiss. It was one of the first historical romances to be published, and I stayed up until 3 a.m. to finish it. (I had a toddler at the time, so I was a little tired the following day!) Currently, I love reading Julie Garwood and Suzanne Brockman. They write some awesome stories with great heroes!

SECRET FIRES

In the midst of the vast, windswept Texas plains stands a ranch wrested from the wilderness with blood, sweat and tears. It is the shining legacy of Thomas McBride to his five living heirs. But along with the fertile acres and herds of cattle, each will inherit a history of scandal, lies and hidden desire that threatens to burn out of control.

THE HALF-BREED

Chase knows he has no legitimate claim to the Circle M. After all, his father made it painfully clear he wants nothing to do with his bastard son or the Comanche girl he once took to his bed. But Chase has his own reasons for answering Tom McBride's deathbed summons. He has a job to do as a Texas Ranger, and a woman to protect—a woman whose sweet innocence gives him new faith that love born in the darkest night can face the dawn of all his tomorrows.

Read an Excerpt:

Chase was ready for trouble and trouble was exactly what he got when he snared the would-be horse thief around the waist. The thief put up a fierce struggle, but only when Chase heard the scream did he realize he was dealing with a woman!

“Hold still!” he commanded.

Fighting with all her strength, it took Faith a moment to realize he’d spoken English. Only when she was slammed back against the solid, hard-muscled width of his chest and held pinned there, did she become aware that this was no ordinary renegade.

“Damn it woman! I said hold still!” Chase ground out, wondering how this golden-haired wildcat of a woman had ended up in his camp trying to steal his horse in the middle of the night.

He looked down at her as she finally stilled in his arms. Only now did he notice that her blouse was torn and her pale flesh was bared to his gaze. She was filthy and there were bruises evident upon her flesh. They were a silent testimony to abuse she’d suffered. He wondered who she was and what had happened to bring her to him.
